WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO PURSUE A CAREER IN I/O PSYCHOLOGY?
I am passionate about improving diversity and wellbeing in the workplace. I believe it is essential that people feel happy at work, given we spend such a large percentage of our lives there.
DO YOU HAVE AN INTERESTING READ TO RECOMMEND?
I particularly enjoyed a recent article published by the New York Times titled “Picture a Leader. Is She a Woman?” by Heather Murphy. The article made reference to some interesting research surrounding people’s perceptions of women in leadership roles. The article even details a thought-provoking activity that professionals working in the I/O psychology field may wish to try out when facilitating sessions with employees on the topics of diversity and leadership.
WHAT ARE YOUR INTERESTS OR HOBBIES OUTSIDE OF ORG PSYCH?
I enjoy playing netball, hiking, reading, and have recently taken to an interest in gardening.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE TV SHOW RIGHT NOW?
Definitely The Handmaid’s Tale, for its strikingly beautiful visuals and the fascinating but eerie plot line.
