SIOPA is an independent and incorporated association with a purpose to create growth, supervision and professional development opportunities for Industrial/Organisational (I/O) Psychologists and related disciplines in Australia. Our practices, methods and principles have been derived and supported by US-based Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychologists (SIOP), and are tailored to suit the renewed challenges that present our profession moving into the future.
Network Partner of the Alliance for Organizational Psychology
SIOPA is a proud Network Partner of the Alliance for Organizational Psychology and is part of the “Big Tent” initiative. As part of this global community, Network Partners share updated information about their major priorities/activities, with the goal of increasing communication among like-minded organisations and facilitating our collective efforts around work and organisational psychology.
Advocating for I/O Psychologists
Primarily, our advocacy is focused on securing the profession of I/O Psychology for the future. This includes addressing the challenges involved in obtaining endorsement and formal supervision in the I/O Psychology profession, and creating strong external and internal brand recognition. Notwithstanding these challenges, our focus also remains firmly on engaging the I/O Psychology community and bringing a sense of collaboration and unity to our profession.
