SIOPA NEWS: BARRY BLOCH APPOINTED AS BOARD MEMBER

The Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology (‘SIOPA’) is pleased to announce the appointment of Barry Bloch to the board. Barry was nominated at the recent SIOPA Annual General Meeting, and joins Vanessa Vershaw, Jon Wilson, Ralph Monley, Dr Ali Burston and Justine McGillivray as renominated board members.

“Barry brings a wealth of international experience and knowledge in people, culture and transformation. It’s a privilege to have Barry join our Board and we look forward to developing and progressing SIOPAfurther for our members. said Industrial/Organisational Psychologist and SIOPA President, Justine McGillivray.

Barry is a people, culture and transformation executive with extensive international experience working in and with Boards and Executive teams to develop strategic business and functional turnaround and transformation. With a career spanning more than 25 years, 50 countries and multiple economic sectors, Barry has previously worked as Chief Operating Officer – Project Support at BGC Contracting, and Group Managing Director – People with Worley Parsons. He has also worked in senior leadership roles for several NFP, ASX and FTSE top 10 companies and for leading global professional services firms, Heidrick & Struggles, McKinsey & Company and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Barry has specialised expertise in the People discipline in which he has worked for over 20 years, with a primary focus on organisational and cultural transformation or turnaround in both developed and developing nations. His experience also includes providing specialist, strategic People support to numerous corporate deals. Barry holds a Masters degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology and has been registered as a psychologist in Australia, South Africa and United Kingdom.
