MEDIA RELEASE: Appointment of the SIOPA Board for FY2024/25

 

The Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology Australia (‘SIOPA’) is pleased to confirm the SIOPA Board for the 2024/25 financial year, following election / re-election at the Annual General Meeting held on 30th August, 2024.

Michelle Stephenson, President

Michelle is an endorsed Organisational Psychologist, PsyBA Supervisor, and previous Treasurer of SIOPA. She has experience in mental health assessment and treatment, psychosocial risk management, trauma-informed care auditing and training, recruitment and selection and psychometric assessment, in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.
Michelle believes in the advancement of the Organisational Psychology profession, and in protecting the integrity of the profession. As a PsyBA Supervisor, Michelle appreciates the opportunity to support the growth and learning of students and psychologists. She has served as a SIOPA committee and/or board member since its foundation in 2016, and intends to be an advocate on behalf of her peers and the wider profession for years to come.

Melanie Fisher, Vice President

Melanie is an endorsed Organisational Psychologist, PsyBA Supervisor, and holds a number of other professional memberships and affiliations in the field of Psychology and Human Resource Management. Melanie has over 20 years’ experience in workplace health and wellbeing and is an experienced leader, therapist, coach, facilitator and HR professional. Melanie has significant professional experience in such job design, human factors, behavioural and psychological safety and psychosocial risk assessment, mental health and fatigue, executive leadership and learning and talent, culture change and psychological assessment. She is passionate about gender equity and creating safe, respectful and inclusive workplaces.
Melanie has supported the professional development of many new to industry Psychologists in the field for many years through supervision, coaching and advocacy and will continue to do so into the future to ensure our future talent has every opportunity to thrive. Melanie is a broad advocate of the profession in general and the skill set it brings to help organisations, teams and individuals flourish.
